Field Certification™
is granted only upon passing a hands-on, performance-based certification
test. A hands-on, performance-based test is a hands-on test of job
task-related usage of actual, live equipment or technology to assess that
individual's true competency to make that equipment or technology perform
in an objective and verifiable manner.

do I become a Field Certified Professional™ (FCP™)?
There are three ways
to become an FCP™:
Pass an FCP™ Exam
By passing one of FCPA’s exams, you will earn the Field Certified
Professional™ (FCP™) credential.
Pre-Qualification
You may also achieve the FCP™ status if you currently hold a
performance-based certification pre-qualified by FCPA®. For

Currently certified and experienced IT professionals may also achieve the

Are Sponsors FCPA®?
FCPA®
sponsors are leaders in the IT industry with a passion for education and
certification. We are grateful that they have been supportive of our

Currently, there are
four major categories of sponsors for FCPA:

This type of
membership is generally available to hardware and software vendors, as
well as major organizations that have a stake in the IT certification and
want to have a role in shaping the association and the certification
paths.

For-Profit Academic Sponsors
This type of membership is only available to for-profit academic
institutions (such as technical education centers, proprietary schools,
and trade schools) that want to have a role in shaping the association and
the certification paths.

Non-Profit Academic Sponsors
This type of membership is only available to non-profit academic
institutions (such as high schools, colleges, and universities) that want
to have a role in shaping the association and the certification paths.

Non-Profit Academic Sponsors
This type of membership is generally available to associations (such
as trade associations and other non-profit institutions of non-academic
nature) that have a stake in the IT certification and want to have a role
in shaping the association and the certification paths.
